The Behemoth reached out to me and asked if I was hype about Castle Crashers coming to Switch and of course I said YES! They asked if I would do a cover for my channel to get everyone excited for it and I happily obliged!
Castle Crashers was one of my favorite games to play with friends when it came out despite my heavy lack of talent with beat em ups. One of my favorite medleys I've ever done was the Castle Crashers medley I did 7 or 8 years ago and I distinctly remember having the most fun with this song.
When I started working on a new full version I realized while I do love this song a lot, that the song was actually very difficult to play. The tapping octaves span most of the song and got extemerely tiresome to play without break. I tried to change up some of the chords to add some flavor to this arrangement and really have sections that calmed down to add impact when the heavy parts come in. I usually opt for a more conventional song stucture, but this song's ability to develop as it progresses was something I wanted to highlight since it's one of the best parts.
It's been fun revisiting songs that I only gave short features before. Let me know which songs you'd like given this treatment in the comments, and of course let me know how excited you are for Castle Crashers again! See you soon!
